Two Ten-Minute Plays

Mr. Daniels by Chere Williams. A monologue about a woman who's been around a little and finally has taken as her boyfriend Jack Daniels, who she can carry around in her pocket and always trust. Read by actress Toni Carmine.

Chere Williams was born in Pittsburgh, PA and has lived in California and Washington, DC, and currently resides in Silver Spring, MD. She graduated from Carlow College with a BA in Psychology and minors in women's studies and sociology. She is currently hard at work on writing and developing plays and screenplays. When not spending time with her family, she volunteers with organizations that support the empowerment of women. She also enjoys holding fundraisers. This will be the first reading of Mr. Daniels. She hopes to bring her work to the stage in the near future.

Sleepy Lagoon by Leon Levenson. An unhappy middle-aged man revisits the scene of an early disaster in love. He lays to rest a ghost that has haunted him all his life but perhaps creates a new one.

Leon Levenson's plays have appeared locally at theaters such as The Source and the Silver Spring Stage. He has also had productions Off Off Broadway in New York, including a showcase at Love Creek Productions of "Bridget's Tower," a ghost romance set in Ireland. He is currently working with themes and events in the life of Isadora Duncan.
