Winter 2012 Exhibit at Kefa Cafe

NOvember/December
November 5 through December 15
Maryline Yobouet
Pen and india ink drawings
perplex geometrix: pen and india ink drawings
Reception: Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, 6:30pm to 8:30pm

Economics courses were at times almost as exciting as 495 traffic. I would doodle endlessly on a smaller scale (marginally upon my textbooks).  Those small drawings would soon grow in size and increase in complexity.

Inspired mostly by waiting: waiting (for laundry, for a class, for the elevator, for a new device). I have documented in pen and ink, all that which could be done in the supposedly insignificant increments of time during which one waits.

In waiting, I have attributed meaning to an otherwise under minded endeavor in pen and ink, black and white: connective thought patterns as random as they appear, are factored into a function of convergent thought over time.

Possessing both complex and simple qualities, waiting can be instinctual. For in waiting, even found objects have a way of finding you.
