Friday, November 2, 7:10pm to 8:30pm
Dr. Kaung’s Book Shelf: An occasional series of book discussions led by Kyi May Kaung. One of the most acclaimed novels of the year. From the book jacket: "In this stunning debut novel, Agu, a young boy -- is recruited into a unit of guerilla fighters." Iweala is a Harvard graduate, who has won numerous prizes, including the LA Times Award and the New York Public Library Award for "Beasts.

Note from Kyi: "We started this series in late 2005 with discussions of My Name is Red by Orhan Pamuk, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature about a year later and A Million Little Pieces, the controversial book by James Frey. Please note, these are book group type discussions and not author appearances or book launches. Titles will be announced ahead so you can read in preparation."
