We must cross over a threshold in order to attain transformation. Our passage of yearning affects the arena we enter and that which we leave behind. In this series I am investigating spiritual architecture. I make ink drawings on site, and I research photographs and writings. Then, using painting and etching, I create images by layering and carving out space, windows and doors. As you cross the visual threshold of my images and enter these arenas, I hope that they will encourage contemplation and transformation.
The works in this exhibit are mixed, oil-based materials on primed 100% cotton rag paper, and intaglio prints, some with chine colle or hand-coloring.
