Art Inspired by African Masks by Leslie Anne Hansley
"I have always been fascinated by African Masks. My husband traveled to Africa many times and always brought home paintings and masks.
In early 2018, I decided to paint images of African masks on canvas but add my own twist. My ancestors used crude tools to make their masks which were often a bit imperfect but yet so very beautiful. I like that my art does not require precision and symmetry and is therefore a reflection of my personality."
